# QRIS MDR & Processing Fee Updates

Effective Date: 1 October 2026

Following Bank Indonesia Decision No. 28/4/KEP.DpG/2026, updated QRIS Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) rates will take effect on 1 October 2026. DOKU is also updating its QRIS Processing Fee structure, with new merchant pricing taking effect on 1 November 2026.

**Here's what you need to know:**

* **Transactions of Rp100,000 and below**: 0% QRIS MDR. A separate DOKU Processing Fee applies depending on your merchant pricing arrangement.
* **Transactions above Rp100,000**: 0.7% QRIS MDR, with no additional Processing Fee under the updated pricing structure.
* **New merchants:** A Processing Fee of Rp1,000 per transaction (excluding 11% PPN) applies to eligible new merchants for transactions of Rp100,000 and below.
* **Existing merchants:** Your applicable Processing Fee follows your respective pricing arrangement with DOKU. Fees may vary and may be subject to pricing adjustments. The Rp1,000 fee for eligible new merchants does not automatically apply to existing merchants. ### What’s New?

#### **QRIS MDR Updates**

MDR is determined by Bank Indonesia and represents the applicable merchant discount rate for QRIS transactions.

Effective 1 October 2026, the updated QRIS MDR rates are:

| Transaction Amount    | QRIS MDR |
| --------------------- | -------- |
| IDR 100,000 and below | 0%       |
| Above IDR 100,000     | 0.7%     |

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important: Processing Fee May Apply**

A separate DOKU Processing Fee may apply to transactions of Rp100,000 and below, depending on your merchant pricing arrangement. Please refer to the [next section](#doku-processing-fee-updates) for details.
{% endhint %}

### **DOKU Processing Fee Updates**

In addition to QRIS MDR, DOKU charges a separate Processing Fee for the use of its payment platform and transaction processing services, including fund transfers to your business.

**New Merchant Pricing**

Effective 1 November 2026, eligible new merchants whose QRIS activation applications are approved by PTEN on or after this date will be charged a Processing Fee of Rp1,000 per transaction for transactions of Rp100,000 and below, excluding PPN.

| Transaction Amount    | Processing Fee    | PPN (11%) | Total Fee |
| --------------------- | ----------------- | --------- | --------- |
| IDR 100,000 and below | IDR 1,000         | IDR 110   | IDR 1,110 |
| Above IDR 100,000     | No additional fee | IDR 0     | IDR 0     |

**Existing Merchant Pricing**

Existing merchants will follow their respective Processing Fee arrangements with DOKU. Applicable fees may vary and may be subject to pricing adjustments based on individual merchant agreements.

The Rp1,000 Processing Fee introduced for eligible new merchants does not automatically apply to existing merchants.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Check Your Applicable Processing Fee**

Please check your DOKU Dashboard to see the Processing Fee applicable to your merchant account.
{% endhint %}

### **QRIS Fee Calculation Examples**

The following examples show how MDR and the Processing Fee affect your settlement amount.

**Example 1: Transaction of Rp80,000**

Assuming the merchant is subject to the Rp1,000 Processing Fee applicable to eligible new merchants:

| Details                     | Amount     |
| --------------------------- | ---------- |
| Transaction Amount          | IDR 80,000 |
| MDR                         | 0%         |
| Processing Fee              | IDR 1,000  |
| PPN on Processing Fee (11%) | Rp 110     |
| Settlement Amount           | IDR 78,890 |

**Calculation: IDR 80,000 - IDR 1,000 - IDR 110 = IDR 78,890**

*Note: This example assumes the merchant is subject to the Rp1,000 Processing Fee applicable to eligible new merchants.*

**Example 2: Transaction of IDR 120,000**

| Details                     | Amount                               |
| --------------------------- | ------------------------------------ |
| Transaction Amount          | IDR 120,000                          |
| MDR                         | 0.7% (IDR 840)                       |
| Processing Fee              | Rp0 (transactions above IDR 100,000) |
| PPN on Processing Fee (11%) | IDR 0                                |
| Settlement Amount           | IDR 119,160                          |

**Calculation: IDR 120,000 - (0.7% × Rp120,000) - IDR 0 - IDR 0 = IDR 119,160**

Want to estimate your QRIS fees and settlement amount? Try the [DOKU Pricing Simulator](https://doku.com/pricing) to calculate your estimated fees based on your transaction amount.

**Please note:** These fees are paid by you as the merchant, not your customers. You must not add a surcharge for QRIS payments. Customers should only be charged the listed price of your products or services.

### &#x20;Important Notes

* **Automatic Application:** The updated QRIS MDR rates are applied automatically. No action is required from merchants.
* **Separate Charges:** MDR is determined by Bank Indonesia, while the Processing Fee is a separate service fee charged by DOKU.
* **Merchant Responsibility:** MDR and the Processing Fee are borne by the merchant, not the customer. Additional charges for QRIS payments must not be passed on to customers.
* **Special Pricing Agreements:** Existing special pricing agreements with DOKU remain applicable according to their agreed terms.
* **Fee Updates:** The Processing Fee may vary depending on the applicable merchant pricing terms. Refer to official DOKU updates for the latest information.

## FAQs

<details>

<summary>Why is there a Processing Fee when QRIS MDR is 0%?</summary>

The 0% MDR rate applies to the QRIS MDR determined by Bank Indonesia. DOKU's Processing Fee is a separate service fee for using its payment platform and transaction processing services. Therefore, a Processing Fee may still apply even when the QRIS MDR is 0%.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Does the Rp1,000 Processing Fee apply to existing merchants?</summary>

No. Existing merchants follow their respective pricing arrangements with DOKU. The Rp1,000 fee for eligible new merchants does not automatically apply to them.

| Eligible new merchants      | Rp1,000/transaction\* |
| --------------------------- | --------------------- |
| Existing merchant (Example) | Rp500/transaction\*   |

\*Excluding 11% PPN. Actual fees may vary depending on your merchant pricing arrangement. Check your DOKU Dashboard for applicable fees.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Is PPN included in the Processing Fee?</summary>

No. The Processing Fee is exclusive of PPN. An additional 11% PPN applies to the Processing Fee.

For example, a Processing Fee of Rp1,000 plus 11% PPN results in a total deduction of Rp1,110.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What services are covered by the Processing Fee?</summary>

The Processing Fee covers the use of DOKU's payment platform and infrastructure, including transaction processing and fund settlement to merchants.

</details>

<details>

<summary>I have just registered with DOKU. What QRIS fees apply to my transaction?</summary>

For eligible new merchants whose QRIS activation applications are approved by PTEN on or after 1 November 2026, the following fees apply:

| Rp100,000 and below | 0%   | Rp1,000 + 11% PPN |
| ------------------- | ---- | ----------------- |
| Above Rp100,000     | 0.7% | Rp0               |

</details>

<details>

<summary>I am already a DOKU merchant. Where can I check my Processing Fee details?</summary>

We sent your business's Processing Fee details via email on October 14, 2026, with the subject line **"INFO TERBARU: Penyesuaian Fee DOKU untuk Transaksi QRIS"** or **"UPDATE: DOKU Fee Adjustment for QRIS Transactions"**.

Your applicable Processing Fee follows the terms communicated in the email.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I pass the MDR or Processing Fee on to my customers?</summary>

No. Bank Indonesia prohibits merchants from charging customers additional fees for QRIS transactions. The amount paid by customers must be the same as the listed price of the goods or services.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.doku.com/changelog/october-2026/qris-mdr-and-processing-fee-updates.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
